Paradise in the Pacific

The Cook Islands enjoy warm tropical weather year-round, but the best time to visit is during the dry season from May through October, when temperatures are comfortable and rainfall is low.
The warmer months from November through April bring lush green landscapes and fewer tourists, though occasional tropical showers can occur.
No matter when you visit, the turquoise lagoons and relaxed island lifestyle make the Cook Islands unforgettable.
The Cook Islands are one of the most peaceful and beautiful tropical destinations in the South Pacific.
My husband Tony and I have visited more than once, and every time we arrive, we are reminded why this island paradise feels so special.
From crystal-clear lagoons and incredible snorkeling to friendly locals and relaxing island life, the Cook Islands offer a perfect escape from busy everyday life.
One of my most unforgettable moments there was seeing a whale leap completely out of the ocean right in front of us. I was lucky enough to capture it on my phone—an experience I will never forget.
The Cook Islands are the kind of place where nature, culture, and relaxation all come together beautifully.

* Snorkel early in the morning for the clearest water
One of our favorite adventures was renting small scooters and exploring the entire Cook island.
Driving around the island gave us the freedom to discover hidden beaches, beautiful ocean views, waterfalls, and charming little villages.
Even though the island may look small on a map, it feels much bigger when you’re exploring it on a scooter and stopping to enjoy the scenery along the way.
It’s one of the best ways to truly experience the island.
The waters surrounding the Cook Islands are some of the most beautiful in the South Pacific.
My husband Tony loves scuba diving, while I prefer snorkeling, and both experiences were amazing.
The clear lagoons are filled with colorful fish and coral, making it easy to see marine life even close to shore.
It’s a paradise for anyone who loves the ocean.
One of the most exciting moments of our trip happened while we were near the ocean and saw a whale leap out of the water.
Watching such a massive creature jump into the air and crash back into the sea was absolutely breathtaking.
Moments like that remind you how powerful and beautiful nature can be.
It’s something I’ll never forget.
We stayed in a beautiful resort where our front door opened directly to the ocean.
Waking up to the sound of the waves and stepping outside to see the turquoise water right in front of us was pure paradise.
The Cook Islands offer many beachfront accommodations where visitors can relax, swim, and enjoy the peaceful island atmosphere.
One of the fun memories from our stay was a friendly local dog who decided to spend time with us while we were there.
He would relax on our porch and greet us when we returned from exploring the Cook Islands.
Of course, after bringing home a few restaurant leftovers and bones, he quickly became our little island companion for the rest of the trip.
It’s little moments like that that make travel memories so special.
Even though the Cook Islands feel peaceful and relaxed, there’s still plenty to do.
Visitors can enjoy:
* delicious local seafood
* charming island restaurants
* small markets and shops
* live music from local bands
Many evenings include live entertainment where visitors can enjoy music while watching the sunset over the ocean.
The Cook Islands are one of those destinations that instantly make you feel relaxed and connected to nature.
From exploring the island on scooters to snorkeling in the turquoise lagoon and watching whales leap from the ocean, every moment feels special.
For travelers looking for a peaceful tropical paradise with stunning scenery and welcoming people, the Cook Islands are truly unforgettable.

The Ladybug Travels
Just a four-hour flight from New Zealand, the Cook Islands offer a tropical escape filled with turquoise waves, golden shores, vibrant coral reefs, and the warmest island hospitality.
Crossing the International Dateline adds a special magic — New Zealand is the first to welcome the New Year, while the Cook Islands are among the last. In a way, you're traveling through time.
For me, this journey was romantic, adventurous, and completely unforgettable. Here are just a few of the highlights that make this Pacific paradise so special.
From our private porch overlooking the ocean, I witnessed my very first whale rise from the water — a breathtaking moment I was lucky enough to capture on video.
The Cook Islands' crystal-clear waters are alive with marine wonders. Playful turtles, colorful schools of fish, and vibrant coral reefs make snorkeling and diving here unforgettable experiences.
The Cook Islands are home to little lizards that usually scurry away — but one bold visitor had other plans.
While I was dancing barefoot in the sand, a lizard crawled up my arm and nipped my neck! Locals later shared an old wives' tale: if a lizard bites your neck, your enemies will be kept away.
True or not, it's a moment and a story I'll never forget.
The best way to explore the Cook Islands is by scooter. We cruised through charming villages, discovered hidden waterfalls, and stopped at resorts and beach bars along the way.
Island music played everywhere, happy hours flowed, and dancing in the sand felt like the only thing that mattered.
The Cook Islands are an ocean lover's dream. While my husband and brother-in-law went diving, I spent hours snorkeling and watching turtles glide effortlessly through the water.
You can also enjoy glass-bottom boat rides or head out for deep-sea fishing for an exhilarating day on the open ocean.
One of the sweetest surprises of the Cook Islands was the friendly dogs that wander around the resorts.
One pup stayed outside our door the entire trip — likely because I kept sneaking him bones from dinner!
He became our loyal little guardian and part of our island family.
Between fresh seafood, open-air dining, nightly music, and endless ocean views, every moment felt magical.
From quiet mornings on the porch to scooter rides around the island and laughter-filled nights dancing with our feet in the sand, the Cook Islands gave me memories I will treasure forever.
The Cook Islands aren't just a destination — they're an experience.
Romantic, adventurous, and full of surprises, they remind you to slow down, savor the moment, and let life's magic unfold.
If you ever get the chance — take it. Paradise is waiting. 🌺
